We had such a great time coordinating Marti and Nick's wedding this past weekend. Marti was the most organized, prepared, layed back bride we've ever encountered! From the moment we met she and Nick, we knew they would be a great couple to work with. We arrived at the church Saturday morning to meet the florists who were busy decorating. We prepared the programs, personalized fans, the M & N wreaths for the front doors and layed out the runner ready for the groomsmen to unroll. It looked great! Next we headed to meet Marti and her bridesmaids at her parents home. The photographers arrived and the excitement began. Marti is stunning and her parents' could barely contain their tears. Marti's bridesmaids are fantastic and only add to the layed back, carefree atmosphere that is refreshing and keeping Marti calm, cool and collected! Meghan took off to meet the Groom and Groomsmen at the church, unfortunatly they arrived without their boutineers, which they were suppose to have received from the florist at the hotel, oops! But, as they say, the show must go on! We made do, and pinned the groom with his soon to be father-in-law's boutineer we had recieved with the girls flowers. We were able to get the boutineers to the chuch, and pinned everyone else after the ceremony, just in time for pictures! And that was the ONLY hitch in the entire day! Meghan and I then headed to the The Hilton to set up for the reception. The venue was great and very easy to work with! After setting up all of Marti's fantastic details we headed to the most fantastic place to take pictures; Gibraltar (Marian Coffin Gardens), in Wilmington, DE. On top of the amazing scenery, Marti provided the girls with the green parasol's and fablous sun glasses. We are super excited to see the professional photo's by Michael's Photography. Michael & Liz were fantastic to work with, professional and creative! The night was topped off with a fun photo booth and dancing all night long! Congrats to the newlyweds, we loved meeting you, your friends and families!

DJ or Band? Band or DJ? I could have gotten rich off of the proverbial dollar every time that question was asked. So which was it? For us it was DJ. We wanted our reception to be a party! Our guest were a majority young crowd and we knew it was going to be, for lack of a better description, a Gong Show! A band didn’t fit that image and didn’t fit our personalities. We didn’t and don’t have anything against bands, we just weren’t sure that a band would be able to play Lil’ Wayne the same way Lil’ Wayne could do it.
I wasn’t sure how to find a good DJ but I knew what I wanted and would find it when I saw it. Kristin and I went to a wedding expo, Bridal Event by Bouche Productions at The Crown Plaza in Cherry Hill, NJ. We walked in very underwhelmed and a little disappointed in the vendors that attended. As to not judge a book by it’s cover we walked around to each table and checked out what they were offering. Really though, Kristin just wanted to get her card signed by every table so she could enter the raffle portion of the experience. It worked out well for her, she WON! The one table that stood out were these DJ’s. Music was blasting and the whole time we were there a crowd was stationed around their table. We had to find out what all the commotion was about. We met Tom and Jon of Hi-Society Productions. Young, hip and very attentive; I fell in love! Three days later an email from Hi- Society Productions was in my inbox! Prompt too? More love! I hadn’t heard from any one else and with their customer service, didn’t need to. I emailed them back, set up a time and place to meet and we were on our way to securing a DJ. Taylor (my husband) and I met Tom and Jon in Northern Liberties in Philadelphia at Bar Ferdinand. After our first beer, and there were a few, we knew these were the guys we were looking for! They were friendly; interested in more than the business they could receive from us and willing and able to read our minds and see our vision. Taylor felt the love. As months turned to weeks and weeks into days Tom and Jon’s customer service was the same it was day 3. They helped us along the way to finding the right music for each detail of our wedding. Reading between the lines of, “We were thinking of...You know, something like...Well, what do you think.” On the day of the wedding they rocked the house! Tom and Jon manned the turn tables while staying on top of the timeline for the night. They were the perfect maestro’s for our wedding! |
