Thanksgiving Table Inspirations

It seems like just yesterday it was 75 degrees, sunny, and we were preparing for all of our summer weddings. Somehow it is now nearing the end of November and Thanksgiving is three days away. For those of you who just realized this (like me) and haven't planned your day-of decor, take a breath and take some inspiration from our favorite Thanksgiving trends.

Pretty in Plaid

To add a rustic feel to your holiday try adding plaid! Purchase a table cloth, table runner, or use a blanket for the day. A smaller way to use plaid in in the napkins or back pillows for the chairs. Plaid is also a great way to incorporate multiple colors into your decor. Complete the rustic look with burlap hints and neutral accent colors.

All That Glitters is Gold

Gold is a great alternative for warm fall colors like orange! We love how it brightens up the table and sparkles in the candle light. Keep it looking classy by using it in addition to neutral colors like white and black. Go bold with painted pumpkins for your center piece, or use it in smaller portions at each place setting.

The Great Pumpkin

Many think of pumpkins and think of jack-o-lanterns and Halloween. However, they can be a decor piece throughout fall. To keep Halloween out of the picture, stray away from orange pumpkins and opt for white or hand painting them alternative colors. Be cautious of painting them too bright or unnatural colors since they may become more of a distraction than a decoration!

Rich & Royal Accent Colors

Another way to make your decor more lively and is to add bold colors to the tablescape. We love how the dark purple napkins are a perfect contrast to the orange on the table, and the blue table runner is a break from the traditional oranges, red and yellows.. Add these rich colors through napkins, or through your floral arrangements.

Jenny & Adam's Mallard Island Wedding

Long Beach Island, New Jersey is one of our favorite towns on the shore of New Jersey. We have been blessed a couple times with being a part of weddings that took place on LBI. Each wedding different but each wedding making LBI the focal point due to the couples love for the island.

Jenny grew up spending her summers on LBI (I believe in her Dad's welcome speech he mentioned she was conceived on LBI) and when Jenny met Adam she brought him into the fold that is the love for LBI. Mallard Island Yacht Club was the perfect venue for their ceremony and reception.

Although, Jenny grew up spending her summers and holidays at the shore, she and Adam currently live in Boston, MA. So, our first conversation was actually with Jenny's mom, Lisa. From the get go, we fell for this family. Our first in-person meeting we met with the entire family and they are a riot. Jenny's family was awesome (if you can't tell by her dad's admission during his "Welcome Speech"), you could feel how close they were and home much they loved one another. It was a blast to be a part of this planning process!

I just don't think I would tire from this view and this place, ever.

Jenny & Adam's guests danced all night long and when the choice came to get onto the shuttle and head back to the hotel or go downstairs for the after party came, guests of ALL ages made their way down to the after party which ragged into the wee hours of the next morning!

Horticulture Heaven

On a rainy day one could only hope your "plan B" location for your ceremony space looked like Katherine &John's wedding on June 27th 2015. Despite the rain, Katherine & John ran, biked and swam the Philadelphia Tri the morning of their wedding-and then headed to the Horticulture Center to say "I Do." The amazing photography from Pat Fuery is the icing on the cake!

And did we mention the tables... Rented tables and mismatched chairs from Magpie Vintage, handmade burlap runners from the Mother of the Bride and stunning hanging centerpieces by Fresh Designs Flora & Events all made this wedding absolutley breath taking!
